Ethereum DEXes and liquidity

Compare Uniswap versions, quote assets and executable liquidity before choosing a route for an Ethereum token.

Compare Uniswap versions, quote assets and executable liquidity before choosing a route for an Ethereum token.

Start with the asset pair and amount

Uniswap coverage alone does not tell you whether a bot can execute your intended trade well. Identify the exact ERC-20 pair, quote asset and order size. Compare the tokens received from executable routes rather than a headline spot price. A route through WETH may differ from one through USDC or USDT.

Uniswap versions are different integrations

Uniswap V2, V3 and V4 are separate protocol versions. V3 concentrates liquidity in ranges; V4 adds customizable hooks. A product supporting V2 and V3 does not automatically support every V4 pool or hook. Our bot tables name only confirmed versions, and incomplete venue lists are not treated as proof that another venue is unavailable.

What you seeWhat it does not prove
High market capDepth at the intended order size.
High reported volumeAuthentic demand or a safe token.
Uniswap integrationSupport for every version, hook or fee-on-transfer token.
A stablecoin quoteNo issuer, depeg or contract risk.
Many route venuesA better executable price after gas.

Aggregators are route selectors

An Ethereum aggregator such as 1inch can search across liquidity sources. Compare its final quote, allowance target and gas implications with a direct Uniswap quote. A longer route is not automatically better, and an aggregator’s general venue coverage does not establish which venues a particular bot has integrated.

Separate asset identity from market category

An Ethereum ERC-20 can represent protocol utility, governance, a stablecoin or a meme/community token. Category labels do not establish liquidity. For a thesis-driven project token, research supply and utility separately from the immediate execution decision. For a meme trade, attention and rapid pool changes may dominate the short-term context.

Quote deterioration is a reason to re-check

If an Ethereum Uniswap quote worsens sharply, investigate order size, route and liquidity before raising tolerance. Inspect minimum received and any token transfer tax. Avoid assuming the next trade will execute at the previous wallet’s price; copy trading encounters a later state of the pool.

Frequently asked questions

Does more liquidity always mean less risk?

Depth can reduce price impact for a given trade, but does not remove token, issuer or smart-contract risk.

Are all Uniswap versions interchangeable?

No. Treat each version and supported pool type as a distinct integration.
